Julie MacRae

BA, BSW, MSW, RSW

Julie (she/her) has been a Clinical Social Worker since 2005. Her approach is grounded in evidence-based therapies which are tailored to meet the unique needs of each person.

Before moving into full-time private practice, Julie spent two decades working in the public addiction and mental health field which included addiction services, working with Veterans and RCMP members with PTSD, as well as developing foundational trainings for addiction and mental health staff across the province.

She is a Certified Master ART Practitioner and a Basic Motivational Interviewing Trainer who earned Bachelor of Arts and Social Work degrees at St. Thomas University, followed by a Master of Social Work in Advanced Clinical Practice from Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Shirley Withers

BA, BSW, RSW

Shirley (she/her) has practiced as a Clinical Social Worker since 1998. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Gerontology and a Bachelor of Social Work from St. Thomas University.

She uses evidence-based treatment that is tailored to fit each individual's needs. Her professional experience includes community addiction and mental health services for youth and adults, work with Indigenous communities, and evidence-informed therapy for Veterans and First Responders. After 26.5 years with Horizon Health, Shirley moved full-time into private practice.

She is a certified Master ART Practitioner and a trainer in Basic Motivational Interviewing. Shirley also provides pre-incident education and post-incident response to critical events.

All clinicians at Resilience Counselling Services are Registered Social Workers (RSW) with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers (NBASW). Our practice adheres to the NBASW Code of Ethics and we maintain ongoing professional development through continuing education every year.
